N / T NUMBERS AND TIME

02 / HOW TO PLAY

Choose a number.
Connect through a symbol.

The first panel gives you a number.
The next brings an operator, too.

01 — Tap anywhere on a panel

Tap the number, its upper-right symbol, or anywhere else on the panel. The first panel supplies only its number; its own operator is ignored. Starting with a ×3 panel gives you 3.

02 — Connect another panel

Tap another panel to apply its operator and number to your current value. Start with 3, tap +2 to get 5, then tap ×2 to get 10. The number and symbol areas work in exactly the same way.

03 — Match automatically

As soon as the current value equals the TARGET, all panels used in the expression are released. Any valid expression with that value counts; you do not have to find one particular solution. A panel cannot appear twice in the same expression.

Calculate in tap order

Every operation, including powers and nth roots, happens in the order you tap. Choose 3, +2, then ×2: your value goes from 3 to 5 to 10. The expression is displayed as (3 + 2) × 2, with parentheses showing the calculation order. For example, 3 → +2 → ×4 makes (3 + 2) × 4 = 20, rather than 11 under the usual operator precedence. Fractions and negative results are allowed. Division by zero is invalid.

Powers and nth roots from LEVEL 10

LEVEL 1–4 use + and −. LEVEL 5 adds × and ÷. LEVEL 10 adds powers and nth roots. x means your current value: x² squares it and x³ cubes it. Choose 3, +2, then x² to get 5² = 25. ²√x takes the square root: 9 becomes 3. ³√x takes the cube root: 8 becomes 2, and −8 becomes −2. The small 2 or 3 is the power or root degree; the large number is your starting value if you choose that panel first.

Undo and Clear

Undo removes the last selected panel from your expression. Tapping that last panel again also undoes it. Clear cancels the whole expression. Both leave the panels on the board. A square root of a negative value is invalid, but Undo lets you continue. An invalid expression or a value that differs from the TARGET does not end the game.

Watch the pressure

More panels arrive as time passes. The run ends at 100% occupancy pressure. Longer expressions release more panels and more area. Clear a short expression when the board feels crowded; look for a longer one when you have room to think.

LEVEL, COMBO, and taking a break

LEVEL rises every 30 seconds of play, up to 100. The pace leaves time to learn newly unlocked operations, then gradually increases as levels rise. Matching again soon builds a COMBO. PAUSE stops game time. Leaving the screen also pauses play, and you choose when to resume.
